East Anchorage Real Estate

Aided by new construction and a boom in retail options, East Anchorage has continuously proven to be a large draw in the Anchorage housing market.  On the border of Anchorage and situated alongside our military bases, this portion of town has several distinct neighborhoods, suited to a wide array of needs. As Anchorage’s population expanded, it became a convenient place to live. Dwellings here are often differing, where apartment units, condominiums, and single family homes all exist, sometimes in close proximity. First time home buyers or investors can often find great properties here.

Alaska is proud of it’s large Native American population, and in more recent years has seen tremendous growth in various cultures and heritages. To this benefit, Anchorage has become among the most advanced cities in America in terms of population diversity. In fact, the three most diverse census bureaus in the whole country are in East Anchorage. Small world markets and ethnic restaurants have moved in to serve up reminders of home and add to the overall vibrancy of these neighborhoods. Another great development in East Anchorage is the Alaska Native Heritage Center, which celebrates our State’s traditions and culture.

East Anchorage is home to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, or as locals refer to it “JBER”.  It’s the largest installation in Alaska and home to the Air Force Headquarters. Approximately 12,000 troops live in Anchorage and the Mat-Su.  East Anchorage often calls itself home to our military personnel and these communities are proud to support and live alongside our armed forces.

Living in East Anchorage can open up so many possibilities. Residents have the convenience of a great location, and easy access to the beautiful scenery and wonderful opportunities Alaska has to offer.
